Preserving Our Fertility with Flavia De Prezzo
In this episode of The Mission Motherhood Show, I sit down with Flavia De Prezzo, founder of Sopotion, to talk about egg freezing, fertility preservation, and why women deserve clear, compassionate information before they are forced into rushed decisions.
Flavia shares her own egg freezing journey and what surprised her most: even with a legal background, pharmaceutical experience, and months of research across more than one hundred clinics in Europe, the process still felt lonely, confusing, and emotionally under-supported.
That experience became her mission.
When I was in my 30s, egg freezing was still considered experimental. I did not have the same access, information, or confidence around this option that women have today, and I often wish I had. That is why this conversation matters so much to me. Women deserve to know what is possible before time, biology, or circumstance make the decision for them.
Even now, years after egg freezing became more widely accepted, so few women are using it. The barriers are not just medical. They are emotional, cultural, financial, and deeply personal.
For some women, egg freezing represents hope. For others, it can feel like admitting defeat, as though preserving fertility means giving up on love or the dream of building a family in a traditional way. But that is not what fertility preservation has to mean.
We talk about why many ambitious women delay fertility conversations, why egg freezing can feel emotionally complicated, and why preserving your fertility is not about giving up on love. It is about giving yourself options.
We also discuss the importance of choosing the right clinic, understanding fertility laws across Europe, preparing your body before treatment, navigating costs, and getting emotional support throughout the process.
This conversation is not about fear.
It is about empowerment.
It is about making informed choices, reducing regret, and giving women the freedom to pursue motherhood on their own terms and their own timeline.

About the Guest:
Flavia De Prezzo is the founder of Sopotion, a platform helping women navigate fertility treatment abroad with clarity and confidence.
With an Italian law degree and eight years in international pharmaceutical business development, Flavia spent a decade reading clinical data and navigating regulatory environments across Europe.
In October 2024, she froze her own eggs and discovered that even with all her professional tools, the process was lonely, confusing, and under-supported.
That experience led her to spend 12+ months researching over 100 clinics across Europe, building the resource she wished had existed: honest, legally informed, medically literate guidance from someone who has actually been through it.
