Rewriting the Motherhood Fairy Tale
In this episode of the HerStory Circle Podcast, I share my journey of striving for motherhood after realizing the traditional fairy tale was not going to unfold the way I expected.
Like many women, I grew up believing I could build my career, become independent, and have children when the timing felt right. But when I reached my late 30s and early 40s, I was confronted with a painful reality: fertility is not unlimited, medical science does not guarantee the outcome we hope for, and motherhood often requires more courage, planning, and faith than we are ever taught.
In this conversation, I open up about IVF, fertility treatments, pregnancy loss, egg and sperm donation, becoming a single mother by choice, and the landmark custody battle that pushed me to turn my pain into purpose.
This episode is about more than infertility.
It is about rewriting the motherhood fairy tale.
It is about giving women real fertility education before they are in crisis.
It is about understanding that there is no one right way to become a mother.
And it is about helping women make informed, empowered choices about their bodies, their timelines, their families, and their futures.
My hope is that by sharing my story, more women will understand their options earlier, trust their own path, and know they do not have to walk this journey alone.
