The LGBTQ+ Journey to Parenthood
In this episode of The Mission: Motherhood Show, I sit down with Mike Snaric and George Moore, husbands, dads, and co-founders of Families Out Loud, for an honest conversation about what it really takes to build a family through surrogacy.
Mike and George share their own journey to becoming fathers to their twin boys, James and Anthony, and how the financial, legal, medical, and emotional challenges they faced became the foundation for their work today.
We talk about the realities most intended parents are not prepared for: choosing the right clinic, understanding embryo quality, navigating egg donation, protecting your surrogate, asking better questions, and making sure ethics never take a back seat to the desire to have a baby.
This conversation is especially important for LGBTQ+ parents, single intended parents, couples facing infertility, and anyone exploring a path to parenthood that does not fit the old “traditional” mold.
What I love most about Mike and George’s work is that they are not just talking about family-building. They are creating a village. Through Families Out Loud, they are helping intended parents find trusted education, ethical providers, community support, and the confidence to move forward without feeling alone.
