The Quest for Fertility (a Doctor's Perspective)

In this new episode of The Mission: Motherhood Show, I sit down with Dr. Oluyemisi “Yemi” Famuyiwa, a double board-certified reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist, to talk about the science, perseverance, and faith it can take to build a family.

What I loved most about this conversation is that Dr. Yemi does not treat fertility as just numbers, lab results, or clinical protocols. She reminds us that every person walking through infertility is a whole human being, carrying hope, grief, fear, questions, and the desire to be seen.

We talk about what women are often not taught early enough about fertility, why time matters more than many of us realize, how stress, thyroid health, nutrition, lifestyle, and environmental factors can impact reproductive health, and why fertility care needs to include both science and soul.

Dr. Yemi also shares insights from her book, The Quest for Fertility, including her SEED method for helping patients seek knowledge, evaluate their options, empower their decisions, and dedicate themselves to the journey ahead.

This conversation is for anyone navigating infertility, considering IVF, thinking about egg freezing, or simply wanting to understand their reproductive health before they are in crisis.

My hope is that you walk away from this episode feeling more informed, more empowered, and more confident in your ability to make choices that protect your future options.
